Chitika is widely held to serve as a Google AdSense Alternative. It is a very easy to use network that utilizes mainly text ads. All ads may be altered by size and color to fit any blog or website, however pay out does not come close to AdSense. They have recently been adding to their available ad formats.

AdBrite
AdBrite was accessible for small publishers with a very low payout threshold. While this Advertising Network was operating it was fairly popular. However it has since discontinued its operations in February of 2013. Its most common complaint by users was logged by advertisers who insisted of being charged for fraudulent impressions, which inflated their costs.

Of course the most prominent of all advertising networks is Google AdSense. This was my own first ad network which I utilized for my first website. After all, they are by far the largest ad network out there. Not only are their ad codes easy to integrate into any blog or site, AdSense accepts most publishers, even the new and very small. Additionally, external site evaluators consider Google AdSense daily income when determining website or blog worth.

There are two frequent complaints about AdSense. The first is the high payout threshold which is set at $100. The second and continually raised caution when using this network is Google’s frequency of banning publishers for violations of their agreement. Mainly Google AdSense terminates publisher use for clicking upon their own ads in an attempt to fraudulently raise their revenue.

Examining Advertisement Networks

In modern times, few writers can limit themselves to pen and paper alone. Providing web content, blogging or just creating an online presence in paramount for gaining success for your written work. Simply writing well is not always enough to sell your work or even get is noticed. In order to see a return for your many hours spend in front of a computer screen creating a blog or website, or even providing others with content, we must all monetize. The most common way to make money in this way is from the services of an advertisement network.

There are many companies out there to choose from. Each ad network differs in their ad content, display, their payment calculation or methods, and even in their membership requirements. The differences between these companies are so vast that it could take volumes to explore. I hope to do just that in this series of posts. With this short introduction I begin my own analysis of the various ad networks that are available to site and blog owners. Along with mine, you own experiences are greatly welcome.

Review of Independently Published Works

The landscape of getting published has changed greatly for new writers. The quantity of books being published these days is astronomical compared to the period of classic authors. Although the quality may not have withstood the pace of the record new books that are being published, the competition makes being recognized almost impossible. At Descriptive Phrases.com I have desired for some time to begin a review and short interview style page that explores some new, independent authors and try to help their works gain a greater audience.

 

 With so much of my time going into my own writing and the creation of this site, I’ve placed this idea of a review of only independently published works on the back burner. Additionally, I didn’t know where I should begin if I were to pursue such a project. Recently I was contacted by a fairly new author who asked for my help in reviewing her new book, and I thought this is the perfect time to help a fellow writer and begin a new page on Descriptive Phrases.com .

 

 I am looking forward to this new project and truly hope that I can help at least one author gain a few readers and some recognition for their work. As always, thanks for reading.
